If you are in the United Sates Navy and Marine Corps you must be familiar with NMCI Homeport. NMCI is the shortened form for Navy/ Marine Corps Intranet that is used extensively in the military and the defense wing of the US government. this Homeport has been accredited to have been the largest computer network in the internal domain, in other words the intranet of the US government for maintaining a common network with the marines and the civilians of USA, Japan and the Hawaii.
This intranet is used to maintain a consistent link with the personnel of the US Navy or Marine. Employees need to maintain a particular log in id to access the Homeport and its EPS/NMCI. Thus the NMCI Home port can be regarded as one Bi network that tends to bring in all the defense personnel under one roof with the help of the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP). In general terms, the NMCI can be taken as a form of outside service for getting help in Information Technology that is taken by the US.
